ANNUAL MEETING Featuring Jerry Rohde & Erin Scofield on “Saloons, Stores & Schools”

Trinidad Museum’s Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at the museum, 400 Janis Court, will feature author-historian Jerry Rohde’s presentation on “Saloons, Stores and Schools.”  Jerry’s granddaughter, Erin Scofield, videographer, will be the co-presenter.  Jerry writes that “any community worth the name had at least one or two of these.  We’ll look at Jack Harvey’s Saloon, the last building left at Elk River Corner; the half-hidden Korbel School, complete with its own gym; the original Loleta Store, whose safe brought forth a full-fledged bank…and lots more.”  Jerry Rohde’s appearance is part of the Pierson Programs 2026 series.  He and Erin will be back in Trinidad in late July and late August for more history, stunning photography, and humor.

     A short business meeting, with a treasurer’s report and election of directors, will precede the presentation, followed by refreshments and an invitation to view the exhibits and gardens.  Museum members and guests cordially invited.  For more information, call (707) 499-9729.
